What you should do before computer virus repair service

Remove Computer Virus Raleigh - Sooner rather than later!

Remove Computer Virus Raleigh - Sooner rather than later!

  • DO NOT start installing computer virus removal programs that claim to be antivirus or antispyware unless you truly know what you’re installing! Yes, a program MAY come up in Google search that looks great, but that doesn’t mean it’s NOT a virus itself!!! MANY programs are out there that claim to be antivirus (particularly those that appear in the popups of infected computers) when, in fact, they are actually either a virus or spyware themselves and only compound the problem. People get excitable when they think they’ve got a virus and too many times end up creating more problems for themselves.
  • Disconnect your computer from the internet/network.Most computer virus activities are web-based and you are at least not allowing a virus to send all your information off to some shady server. Additionally, the computer virus is NOT able to download more of it’s buddies TO your computer. The longer an infected machine is connected to the internet, the worse the computer problem will normally be!
    • Disconnect the network cable or modem.
    • If it is a laptop, make sure the wireless adapter is shut off. This is usually either a slide switch on the front or side of the unit, a pushbutton somewhere, OR disable it from the system tray inside Windows.
  • Gather any software install disks/install keys that you may have for the computer. Many times these are not needed, but if a reinstall of any of the software is required, this will save a lot of time.
  • Jot down any passwords that may be needed when we remove computer virus files  to ensure that all applications are working properly. Windows logon passwords, email passwords if required, etc.
  • Check to see if you have made a recent backup OF your documents. In case heavy cleanup work is required to remove computer virus activity, it is a good move to have a recent backup available.
